Who is the first vacuum blood collection tube inventor in China?

In 1992, China have no vacuum blood collection tube. Hospitals are still use traditional way to draw blood.At that time , Chen Pingxuan, a normal worker, who worked in the public office in Liuyang city of China.

Now, Chen Pingxuan , more than 50 years old, is the CEO of Liuyang SANLI Medical Technology Development Co.,Ltd. After a long and arduous exploration, he successfully developed China’s first automatic vacuum venous blood collection tube. This year, he won the honorary title of Hunan model worker.

Research and develop Vacuum Blood Collection Tube

Time goes back to 1991, by chance, Mr.Chen got an Vacuum Blood Collection Tube from a friend who came back from an American study. At that time, vacuum blood collection system had been using abroad for more than 40 years, but it is still a technical gap in China. Chen Pingxuan realized that this is a huge business opportunity. So He resigned from public office, with 5000 RMB to embark on the R & D and production of automatic blood collection device.

However, it is not easy to develop the field of automatic blood sampling system that has not yet been set up in China. Without technology and researchers, Mr.Chen and several partners began a long road to development.They had failed many times, some partners quit out from the team. But Mr.chen never say give up.

Zheng Liangming, deputy general manager of Liuyang SANLI Medical Technology Development Co.,Ltd. shared a story with us. In order to determine whether it can meet the standards, Chen Pingxuan asked the researchers to draw his own blood for testing. In 1992, the first automatic venous vacuum blood collection was developed by Chen Pingxuan. And now, there are still many hard rashes in Chen Pingxuan’s arm bend which was the mark of frequent blood withdrawal.

Take the lead in R & D and constantly pursue technological innovation

Now the production process of blood sampling needles and additives, air-drying, sterilization, capping, negative pressure extraction and packaging were fully automated.

Chen Pingxuan are quite familiar with every step of the production line and products. Take out a well-made blood collection, Chen Pingxuan introduced, "the bottom of this transparent object is inert glue, can completely isolate blood serum and blood cells, thus ensuring the purity of serum. The retention time of blood samples was extended from 24 hours to more than six months.
